Organization
Don’t get lost!
Nearly all Web sites have a hierarchical structure to them. You start at the home page, which has links to a bunch of categories. For a typical small business, you’ll have categories like, “About Us,” “Products,” “Contact Us,” “Investor Relations,” and the like. Some of those pages—let’s say, “Products”—will probably have links to further subcategories, such as for the company’s doohickies, widgets, and thingamabobs. Each of those pages might have links to individual products, which might have links to separate product information pages, and so on.
My site software makes it easy to organize a site this way. Simply pick the “parent” page when you’re creating or editing the page, and the rest is automatic.
Changes to the site organization are instantly reflected everywhere—in the page’s URL, the navigation menus, the site map, everything.
Within this particular category that you’re looking at right now, “Organization,” you’ll find a number of sub-categories:.
